PLASTER AND STAFF,
MATERIALS DATING BACK THOUSANDS OF YEARS
Since 7000 years BC, man has made constructive
use of the "plaster stone" gypsum. Today, using
staff (made up of moulding plaster with glass
or plant fibre for reinforcement), we have been
able to make plaster more resistant. Not only
does this noble material open up the door to the
Artist's imagination, allowing for the realisation
of his greatest fancies, it is also a material
of great technical value: It is inflammable, particularly
useful in respect of acoustics and even recommended
for construction...and for hygiene. |
 |
Plaster has
been used
throughout history, however it is only today that
contemporary users, architects and
decorators, have really begun
to exploit it to its maximum potential - The Orsay
Station is a superb example. Only
the most specialised of professionals
with knowledge of the art of working
with plaster, may reveal its secrets
with talent. |

Whether the work is
carried out in plaster, (on site plastering),
with staff or with stucco (a waxed finish giving
enhanced decorative brilliance) |
